Don’t use the tawa for dosas! Use it only for chapathis, rotis, and parottas. If you’re planning on buying this iron tawa for making dosas, just don’t. It is simply not worth the time and effort. I bought this to replace my cast iron dosa tawa, which started to show signs of pitting after 6 years of use.Unlike other people, I had no issues seasoning this iron dosa tawa since I have a lot of experience in this department. However, when I tried to make dosas, it would get stuck to the pan and simply refuse to come out. After spending a lot of time analysing why it happened, it struck me.This iron tawa is made from thin iron sheets. While this helps heat up the pan quickly within just a minute or two, it also burns the dosa batter. Even when I set the flame to the lowest setting, this iron tawa still ended up burning the batter.I never faced this issue with my old cast iron tawa since cast iron is thicker and heats up much slowly, it is more suited to cooking dosas than this tawa. That said, I was able to cook chapathis, rotis, and parottas superbly with this iron tawa. So, long story short -If you want to cook dosas, opt for cast iron tawas instead of this one.And if you want to cook chapathis, rotis, and parottas, you can go for this tawa.

LIGHT WEIGHT SMALL HOME PERFORMER. Just about 1.2Kgs. Fitted with a ergonomically shaped wooden handle to make tossing, flipping and swirling of the food easier.Heats up fast – but also does not retain heat as well as a cast-iron tawa. The tawa thickness is also less when compared with the C.I. versions. I suspect this tawa catches rust sooner than the C.I. models – so ensure it is always coated with a film of oil when not in use.Dosas came out crisp, thin – no issues here.Plan to try it out for omelettes, rotis, sauteed veggies.

Good product. Brilliant product. The handle could be a bit more sturdy. Works excellent on Induction. (Also this isn’t nonstick, just for regular use so buy accordingly)
Sridha –
Waste of money. Totally disappointed. Bought it thinking of the brand selling it.. but the heat distribution is not proper.. the middle part gets so heated so fast that it burns in the middle..

Perfect for use. I like the wooden handel and easy for chapati and dosa.just need to wash and season it at first then perfect for any type of dosa and paratas

It’s not as described. The tava doesn’t seem to be seasoned. Even after seasoning everything sticks on it. Dosa chapati. Most terrible product.

Not good at all, DONT BUY. The media could not be loaded. Uneven heating, too much black residue inspite of washing many times. Once heated black residue come on dosa and Chapati. I really wish I could return it back. This is the just after 5-7 uses. Not happy with the product. It was a waste of money for me

Very hard, sturdy, good for cooking and at a reasonable price. I really liked this tawa as it is sturdy, durable, good for cooking, and at a very cheap price. I just used it for cooking dosas and they turned out to be pretty good.
